Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, call or message us and we will answer it directly.

General

A correctly installed epoxy floor typically lasts 10 to 15 years, and a heavy-duty industrial system 15 to 20 years. The single biggest factor is surface preparation: a floor laid over properly ground and repaired concrete will far outlast one applied to an unprepared slab, regardless of the coating used.

Installation

For a typical area of 2,000 to 5,000 sq ft, allow three to five days from preparation to final coat. Larger industrial floors are usually installed in phases so that parts of your operation can continue. The floor takes foot traffic after roughly 24 hours and full vehicle or heavy load traffic after about seven days, once it has fully cured.

Maintenance

Sweep or dust mop regularly, and clean with a neutral pH cleaner and warm water. Because the surface is seamless there are no grout lines to scrub. Avoid harsh acidic cleaners and steel wool, and place mats at entrances to catch grit, which is the main cause of surface scratching over time.

Commercial

Not usually. We routinely work in phases, overnight, or over weekends so that operations continue. The area being coated must be clear and free of traffic while the resin cures, but neighbouring areas can normally stay in use. We agree the sequence with you before work starts.
